On 17 November 2018, during the Zagreb Book Fair Interliber, the The Monograph »Croatian Orders, Awards and Medals« was presented, issued by the Školska knjiga, written by Krešimir Kašpar, Mirko Marijan, Siniša Pogačić, and Boris Prister.
The researches of Croatian phaleristics and related disciplines are well aware of the names of these authors: retired general Kašpar participated in the creation of the modern Croatian phaleristic system in the Office of the Croatian President, MSc Marijan was chief of the Orders and Awards Division in the Office of the President, Pogačić is a researcher and autor of several monographs in symbolic militaria, and Priester is recently retired museum advisor and curator of the Orders, Medals, Plaques and Pins Collection in the Croatian Histroy Museum, with more than abundant opus in the field.
Their monograph provides an integral review of the orders and awards in the world and in these regions, with histroical overview and contemporary system of awards in europe and in the world, a review of Croatian orders history and the Republic of Croatia system from 1992. They provide yet unpublished statistics of awarded orders, awards and medals in the Republic of Croatia, with lists of awarded persons, with lists of orders granted to Croatian presidents, list of foreign dignitaries awarded with Croatian orders, rules for awarding, wearing and displaying of the orders. Beside the state orders, the book presents also the awards of the Croatian Firefighters Union, Croatian Red Cross, Croatian Hunting Association and the Scout Association of Croatia.
The quality data provided by the book complemented with artractive photographs shall make the book unavoidable on the shelves of various researches, not only those highly specialized in the fields.
