The 20th HGZD Tribune was held on 11 March 2014 in the premises of the Zagreb Classical Gymnasium Society (DZKG). Dr. Tijana Trako Poljak, research assistant at the Sociology Department of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Studies of the University of Zagreb, held a lecture titled “Croatian State Flag from the Croatian Citizens’ Perspective – Meanings, Significance and Commitment” presenting a part of her results researching the issue of the most prominent Croatian state symbols – the state flag – from the “micro-perspective” of Croatian citizens, to show what meanings they ascribe to it, what significance it has for them and how commited they are to it in public and private spaces. A wider research Dr. Tako Poljak performed as part of her Doctoral Thesis, recently defended at the Faculty.
