Panel Discussion “Croatian historical coat(s) of arms” in Split
In the hall of the Croatian Maritime Museum in Split in the Gripe Fortress, a panel discussion “Croatian Historical Coat of Arms” was held on 24 June 2025, organized by the Croatian Association Benedikt and the Society of Brothers of the Croatian Dragon – the Split Chapter. The panel discussion was organized on the occasion of the recently adopted Declaration of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts on the Croatian Historical Coat of Arms. The introductory speech was given by Radoslav Zaradić, president of the Croatian Association Benedikt, and lectures were given by members of the HGZD, Dr. Mario Jareb “Red or White? White or Red? Stereotypes and Contemporary Controversies about the Color of the Initial Field of the Croatian Checkered Coat of Arms” and Mate Božić “When, How and Why Do the Checkered Fields of the Croatian Coat of Arms Come About?”
