The HGZD held the first meeting this year on Thursday, 19 April 2007 in the premises of the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb (AMZ), 19 Nikola Šubić Zrinski Square, Zagreb.
The meeting began with presentation of a twenty-odd minutes short film from 27th International Congress of Genealogic and Heraldic Sciences held last year in St. Andrews, Scotland, in which we especially wanted to take a look at the heraldic opening ceremony prepared for the Congress by the British ceremony experts.
Following it, two of our members who participated the Congress gave us the lectures on the topics they presented there:
MSc. Dubravka Peić Čaldarović – Modifications of Croatian State Heraldry during the 20th century
Dr. Ivan Mirnik – The Order of the Dragon as reflected in Hungarian and Croatian Heraldry
The meeting was joined by almost thirty members and friends, and after the formal part we have had pleasant mingling with some refreshments that lasted for over an hour more.
Those most persistent who stayed until the end, got chance get an other treat: our gracious host, Dr. Mirnik, took us to take a peek at the pride of the Archeological Museum, the legendary Apoxiomenon.
How it was there in the AMZ, take a look at the photographs, again kindly provided by Boris Priester.
