Lecture on draconic coats of arms in the Tower over the Stone Gates, 16 October 2019
The exhibition »Draconic Coat of Arms: Granted at the Georgian Session 2019« was opened in the Draconic Tower over the Stone Gates in Zagreb, in the ceremonial hall of the Society of Brethren of the Croatian Dragon, on 16 October 2019.
Draconic coats of arms are personal emblems of members of this Society, which nurishes Croatian culture and endeavours in preservation of traditions and heritage. The Society grants arms to its members since its establishment in 1905. Thrteen new coats of arms were granted this year at the Gregorian Session, a ceremonial annual gathering of the Society, held on 23 April. It was the first time that the arms were granted with ceremonial presentation of armorial letters.

A member of Draconic Heraldic Office (ZHU), Željko Heimer, was involved in the process fo preparation of the ceremony, and inthe mean time he was elected the ZHU head. Heimer prepared the exhibition in cooperation with the newly granted armigers, who prepared their own personal view at the symbolism and reasons for choices of their symbols. On the occasion of its opening, Heimer gave lecture on history of draconic heraldry, being a particular element of Croatian national heritage cherished by this Society.
