Croatian Post, Inc. has accepted HGZD’s proposal to publish a series of postage stamps in 2023 on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of the Croatian tricolor. Croatian Flag Day (June 5) was jointly established in 2018 by four national institutions (the Croatian Institute of History, Croatian History Museum, Society of Brethren of the Croatian Dragon Society, and HGZD) to  commemorate the establishment of the tricolor as the Croatian national flag.
According to the Competition for Design for Commemorative Postage Stamps for 2023, a series of two stamps titled The Croatian Flags is planned. One stamp depicts Ban Jelačić’s installation flag and the other a contemporary Croatian flag.

Croatian Post previously published a stamp depicting Jelačić’s ban flag in 1998 in a series titled Croatian Historical Events of 1848. Several other stamps show the contemporary Croatian flag. Perhaps most striking is the 2020 stamp commemorating the anniversary of the Storm military operation. Let’s hope that “our” stamps next year will be equally attractive.
