We participated in the 24th International Congress of Vexillology, organized by the North American Vexillological Association (NAVA) and the Chesapeake Bay Flag Association (CFA), 1-5 August 2011, in Alexandria, VA in the Washington, D.C. area. During the Congress, the Fédération internationale des associations vexillologiques (FIAV) held the 22nd Session of its General Assembly. The main Congress venue was the magnificent George Washington Masonic Memorial in Alexandria, Virginia.
The Congress was participated by Jelena Borošak Marijanović with the paper “Sokol Flags: The Symbols of the Croatian Sokol Movement to 1914” and Željko Heimer with the “National Identity in the Political Party Flags in Croatia”.

During the Congress, the traditional meeting of the international vexillological association FOTW was held, while it was probably for the most participants the highlight of the event the visit to the depots and restoration workshops of the national history museum in Washington.
