Interview with the HGZD president in Hrvatsko slovo

Željko HeimerThe weekly magazine for culture "Hrvatsko slovo" (Croatian letter) in its nr. 791 of 18 June 2010 published an interview with the HGZD president lead by Ms. Kristina Repar, journalist of Hrvatsko slovo. In the interview Mr. Heimer recounts on the reasons for establishment of the Association, its goals and activities, he gives an overview of the current Croatian heraldry and vexillology position in the society and among the foreign experts and he talks about his latest book on the Zagreb symbols.

New symbols of Srpska

Republika Srpska Coat of Arms 2008 As we reported here earealier, on 14 June 2007 the Republic of Srpska within the Bosnia and Herzegovina dropped from the use its official coat of arms and its anthem by the decision of the Constitutional Court of B&H. Since then an official emblem was in temporary use and the search for the new symbols followed. As it was reported by the FENA news agency and was transmitted by many media (for example www.bljesak.info) on 15 June 2008 the People's Assembly of the Republic of Srpska adopted a new coat of arms and a new anthem.
The new anthem is titled "Moja Republika" (My Republic) by Mladen Matović from Banja Luka.
The adopted design of the coat of arms is one of the five finalist designs proposed to the Assembly in September 2007, with minor adjustments, apparently proposed by Nenad Kosanin from Belgrade. read more »
HGZD becomes CIGH member

On the CIGH General Assembly held yesterday during the 28th International Congress of Genealogy and Heraldry in Quebek City, the Croatian Heraldic and Vexillologic Association was unanimously granted membership into this international association of genealogic and heraldic societies - the International Genealogic and Heraldic Confederation (CIGH - Confédération Internationale de Généalogie et d'Héraldique). After last year's admission to the International Federation of Vexillologic Associations (FIAV), this rounds up our presence in the international expert associations. It is a recognition of out Society efforts and of long lasting work of our members, whose activities are known around the world.
New book "Coat of arms and Flag of Croatia" promoted on the Solemn Session of the Parliament

Parliament Solemn Session 30.05.2008.On the Solemn Sessiof of the Croatian Parliament on 30 May 2008 celebrating the Parliaemnt Day, a new book by Željko Heimer titled "Grb i zastava Republike Hrvatske", issued by publisher Laykam International from Zagreb, was promoted.
The Session was attended by the MP's accompanied with the highest state officials, representatives of the executive and juridical branch, representatives of religious communities and diplomatic corps and other high guests. It begun with the national anthem and the taps for victims. The Speaker, Mr. Luka Bebić held the opening speech on the history and role of the Parliament. read more »
